Not-your-grandmother's Toy Theater Fairy Tales

For all ages
Wednesday Feb 23 and Friday, Feb. 25 9am-12pm

Who wants to hear the same old fairy tales again? It's time to make some new ones! Get ready to get silly and get creative! We'll use toy theater to tell our own made-up fairy tales, using puppets we make ourselves. Toy theater is a form of puppetry using very small puppets on sticks inside a tabletop stage.

In the 18th century in Europe, paper kits were sold at theater so people could take home the play and re-enact it at home.

In 2011, we'll put a fresh spin on an old style. Puppeteer Anna Sobel will present a sample toy theater show and inspire you to create your own.

Open to children of all ages.
